Nathan Jones urged to secure 28 year old Wrexham flop in winter

Nathan Jones

Nathan Jones called Wrexham a circus in 2025. Now, he has been urged to secure 28 year old Wrexham flop Ryan Hardie in the winter transfer market.

When the 2020s decade began, Wrexham fans used to have Chester and Newport County as the only teams worthy of calling rivals. The Red Dragons sat in similar divisions as Chester back in the days, and tasting a Newport County derby required a League Two promotion.

Fast forward to the mid 2020s, and the North Wales outfit have battled Cardiff City and Swansea as Welsh derbies. Every football fan in the United Kingdom will admit that Wrexham’s stature and appeal has increased day by day thanks to a hat-trick of promotions.

Looking at the other side of the coin, rivals have also increased in huge numbers. Swansea and Cardiff were always going to look down upon the sporting progress done at the Racecourse but Welshman Nathan Jones’ grudge against Wrexham has come as a surprise.

What did Nathan Jones say about Wrexham?

During the final weeks of April, Jones launched a circus taunt at Wrexham. He did attempt to cool down the matter, but one thing is certain that Jones has burnt his bridges with a large section of the Red Dragons faithful.

Unless and until, Ryan Reynolds, Rob McElhenney as well as the entire Wrexham chiefs opt to give the team’s keys to Jones, his opinions are sure to stay different with the fans over here.

In the first place, Nathan Jones being linked to Wrexham is a distant possibility in itself. However, the winter rumour mill has whispers of one possible January transfer that Jones can do from Wrexham while earning a wave of “thank you” emotions from the Racecourse supporters.

Making things clear, the player in question isn’t an outright starter for head coach Phil Parkinson. This hint will have relieved many fans, so coming to the name reveal it’s Wrexham flop Ryan Hardie.

During the previous week, Hardie constantly used to make Wrexham transfer headlines about a January exit. Links to multiple clubs fueled the notion of him waving a good bye either permanently or on loan, and the Red Dragons adding a new attacker in North Wales.

Nathan Jones urged to secure Ryan Hardie transfer

A knee injury to Hardie silenced the transfer noises surrounding him until now when the Football League World are suggesting the 28 year old Scot could be of good use for Nathan Jones.

Comparing Hardie’s transfer link to Jones led Charlton Athletic with those of fellow Wrexham forward Josh Windass, one can see there are a lot of differences. Windass had clocked a brilliant two year spell at Rangers in the past while Hardie has neither played for Charlton nor lined up for any of the Addicks London rivals before.

The same goes for the coaching department. Windass has starred for Rangers boss Danny Rohl in the previous couple of years unlike Hardie, who is a complete stranger to Nathan Jones.

Hence, there is no emotional side to the Ryan Hardie to Charlton Athletic rumour. In sporting terms, Charlton have scored the third fewest goals in the division and mainly Hardie’s Championship output has arrived in similar low scoring environments.

All things considered, Hardie can enjoy a rich vein of form in an Addicks shirt on paper. At the same time, the former Plymouth Argyle striker was supposed to flow goals like water at the Racecourse ground but didn’t do so until yet.

The best case prediction remains that Charlton and Wrexham shake hands over a loan deal with an optional buying clause for next summer. This way, Wrexham can offload Hardie without sweating to find offers for him on the table.

The rest depends on how quickly Hardie returns match fit and the way the January window shapes up.
