Struggling Wrexham star Kieffer Moore has named his 2 dreams for current club Wrexham and the Wales national team for the 2025/26 season.
A striker scoring 12 goals in a season after being brought for only £2m is often labelled as a good transfer in the Championship. Wrexham did the same with Kieffer Moore during last summer. In fact, the 33-year-old Wales international bagged 12 goals in the first half of the campaign itself.
But since 2 months, it’s not going Kieffer Moore’s way at Wrexham. Although Phil Parkinson keeps starting him in every alternate Championship game, the bitter truth is that Sam Smith has displaced Moore as the Reds first-choice striker.
Even tonight, it’s more likely that Sam Smith starts in the crunch FA Cup game vs Ipswich Town. All signs point out that Kieffer Moore is struggling at Wrexham both for form and fitness. After all, the Preston North End injury ruined Moore’s momentum just before 2025 ended.
If Moore needs something, it’s goals to get his lost scoring rhythm back. Still, it’s quite a class act from the Welshman to prioritize 2 collective dreams for the current 2025/26 season instead.
Kieffer Moore names 2 dreams for 2025/26 season
In his own words, the BBC quoted Kieffer Moore listing out his first Wales dream: “We’ve got to get through Bosnia which will be an incredibly tough game, but we fancy our chances at home”.
In case you missed it, Wales FIFA World Cup 2026 chances are perfectly 50-50 in the balance. The Dragons are in the mix for potentially qualifying for the United States summer tournament as one of the 6 nations through the playoffs qualifiers route.

Up next, Moore also touched on his Wrexham dream saying: “There was a big turnover of people and I think it took us time to really adjust to each other. But as soon as we hit our stride, we haven’t looked back”.
To be honest, Wrexham have massively improved from the team that kicked off the Championship season back in August. There is more consistency in terms of wins and good results, although the Reds still have to apply a good finishing touch to get through to the playoffs and beyond.
Which Kieffer Moore dream is more likely to happen?
If it’s up to Kieffer Moore, he will happily accept losing his starting spot at Wrexham for a Premier League promotion and reaching the 2026 FIFA World Cup with Wales. Talking of his career, he has actually done both in the past.
Moore has earned Premier League promotion with Bournemouth and Ipswich Town, and starred for the Gareth Bale-led Wales team in the 2022 FIFA World Cup Qatar. But fulfilling both wishes in a span of 3 months will be difficult.

First of all, Wales will host Bosnia in one of the semi-finals of the 2026 World Cup qualifying path. As Moore said, Wales will be heavy favourites to get past Bosnia in their backyard. However, they will have to then face the winner of Italy vs Northern Ireland in the eventual qualifying finals.
Should Wales win both games, only then can they jet off for United States in the summer. Ultimately, the biggest obstacle for Wales 2026 World Cup dreams is Italy. Yes, the Italians lost out to North Macedonia in the same qualifying semi-finals for the 2022 World Cup but such upsets are quite rare.
Thus, Moore and his Wales teammates have an uphill climb to reach the 2026 FIFA World Cup. In comparison, the Premier League promotion with Wrexham is more easier to do. Phil Parkinson’s men have already won two thrilling knockout games this season that went to penalties, the Hull City Carabao Cup win and the FA Cup win over Nottingham Forest.
It sparks greater optimism about Wrexham giving a good fight to their playoffs opponents. And hopefully, win the Premier League promotion at Wembley in May.
