Wrexham predicted lineup vs Bristol City for tonight’s away Championship fixture. Will former Bristol City defender Zak Vyner make his debut for Wrexham?
For 3 days, Wrexham have stayed outside of the Championship top 6 with a Bristol City game in hand. The goal for Phil Parkinson’s men is simple, beat Bristol City and climb back to the promotion zone or remain winless again in the second league game of February and complicate things further.
At Ipswich Town, Wrexham went with their full strength lineup excluding injured players and got the FA Cup job done. For today’s clash, Nathan Broadhead and former Bristol City defender Zak Vyner are expected to bolster Phil Parkinson’s options on the Reds team sheet.
With all due respect to the Robins current campaign, they have struggled to bag two consecutive wins ever since 2026 began. On top of that, their last game was a 3-2 win and noting their recent pattern, there is a huge possibility of Bristol City leaving points on the table at full-time.
Can Wrexham gain the full 3 points tonight, will thus boil down to how well Phil Parkinson can set up the starting lineup for victory. That said, let’s jump into the Wrexham predicted lineup vs Bristol City Parkinson is most likely to name before kickoff.
Wrexham predicted lineup vs Bristol City
GK: Arthur Okonkwo
Ipswich Town didn’t test Arthur Okonkwo much on Saturday, except a few close chances that went wide of his goal. Wrexham will hope that Okonkwo gets another boring day between the sticks and remains on hand to prevent any Bristol City attacks from going in.
CB: Callum Doyle
It was nice to see Doyle adopt a defensive role at Ipswich Town and help out the defence on a number of dangerous chances. Bristol City don’t possess that level of attacking threat as Ipswich, thus, Doyle will be expected to occasionally help out the forwards with key passes and crosses.

CB: Dominic Hyam
Dominic Hyam was rock-solid and won all his battles against Ipswich Town’s George Hirst. A similar dominating display is required from him when he takes on Bristol City’s tall striker Emil Riis.
CB: Max Cleworth
Max Cleworth blocked two clear cut scoring opportunities for Ipswich Town and his starting place isn’t under doubts. Zak Vyner will then definitely make the bench, and maybe gets some minutes to close out the game in case Wrexham are winning comfortably.
LWB: George Thomason
Fresh from an Ipswich Town masterclass at left wingback, George Thomason is the best and the only choice available for Phil Parkinson at the left side of the defence.
CM: George Dobson
George Dobson’s biggest strength is that he’s quite press-resistant unlike first choice defensive midfielder Ben Sheaf. Dobson’s recent games have also been well from an individual point of view, so, replacing him with Sheaf doesn’t make any sense.
CM: Lewis O’Brien
The Dobson-O’Brien pairing has worked well in February largely due to Matty James injury at Millwall and Sheaf’s struggling form. Many times, Dobson successfully threads a pass to O’Brien and that results in a big chance for Wrexham. Playing Lewis O’Brien again in midfield thus, becomes a no-brainer.

RWB: Issa Kabore
Don’t get it wrong, Ryan Longman was flawless against Ipswich Town and shouldn’t be losing his place tonight. Still, Phil Parkinson has sticked to Issa Kabore for the Championship since his injury return.
For that reason, Kabore can start tonight vs Bristol City. Can he chip in with an assist like Longman delivered on Saturday, that remains to be seen.
CAM: Nathan Broadhead
Without Broadhead, Wrexham have only scored once in the past two games. The 27-year-old Wales international arrived on the scoresheet against Bristol City in style, and will be relied upon to make the difference away at Ashton Gate.
CAM: Josh Windass
Josh Windass first half energy against Ipswich Town rallied the Reds to FA Cup 4th round win. He should be picked in the starting eleven, which will still leave Phil Parkinson with super sub candidate Ollie Rathbone on the bench.
ST: Sam Smith
Sam Smith has netted in all of his previous four Championship starts. If boss Parkinson ignores him again as he did against Millwall, that could very well come to haunt Wrexham at the full-time whistle.
