Wrexham can sign £17.5m Premier League forward Harry Wilson on a free transfer in the 2026 summer transfer window on one condition.
English football pyramid contains around 4 months of transfer windows every year across both the summer and winter transfer markets. Wrexham are also allowed the same transfer dates, but rumours basically have no deadlines at the Racecourse.
The Red Dragons are constantly linked with flashy signings from the Premier League and abroad. Now that Wrexham have got ‘French Wrexham’ and multiple clubs imitating their actions, the transfer noises are only bound to increase further.
Outside of the January transfer window, Phil Parkinson’s side were recently linked with a statement signing for Manchester City legend Raheem Sterling. Unfortunately, that transfer might never happen as the 31-year-old immediately joined Eredivisie outfit Feyenoord in the following days.
Quite possible that Sterling may not have given Wrexham a thought just because the Reds aren’t Premier League boys yet. But if Wrexham go up, they could be making headlines for snapping top Premier League talent. Including an in-form forward on a free transfer.
Wrexham can sign £17.5m forward Harry Wilson on free transfer
Going by a TeamTalk report, Wrexham can realistically sign Fulham’s star forward Harry Wilson on a free transfer. Those Reds fans who regularly watch the Premier League, need no introduction to Wilson’s red-hot form at the moment.

In the 2025/26 season, Wilson has found the back of the net nine times across all competitions alongside five assists. And the best part? Most of these goals have arrived since November including go-ahead goals against Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool.
In January, Wilson netted the 2-1 winner against Chelsea in Fulham’s South London derby. Very soon, the 28-year-old Welshman scored an injury time free-kick against Brighton to wrap another 2-1 victory.
The report also mentions Aston Villa’s rival interest in Wilson for the 2026 summer. A while ago, Wrexham turned Aston Villa down when there were speculations of Max Cleworth heading to Unai Emery’s side in a blockbuster £20m January move.
Not every second tier club can say no to doing business with a Premier League regular so the Reds won’t be any underdogs in the Harry Wilson transfer race provided they rise up to the Premier League in the first place.
Wrexham fans will love Harry Wilson signing
Every club’s fanbase remains excited for welcoming star Premier League talents in their ranks. Harry Wilson fits that bill and apart from that, he is a Wrexham native as well. The Fulham winger was born and brought up in Wrexham which will delight many fans about wanting him back in North Wales.

Plus, boss Phil Parkinson can complete an all-Welsh front three with Nathan Broadhead on the left, Kieffer Moore up front and Harry Wilson running down the right flank. As things stand, Wrexham are the highest placed Welsh team among the 92 Premier League and EFL clubs.
And boasting a squad consisting of several Wales international stars will bring much pride for the North Wales outfit and the supporters.
Well, what if Phil Parkinson doesn’t prefer bringing wingers in his 3-4-2-1 formation? That won’t be an issue as Harry Wilson keeps switching over to the No.10 attacking midfielder role at Fulham.
Lastly, a £17.5m Premier League star being available for free is a steal in this day and age. Wrexham should absolutely try their hand at getting Harry Wilson if they manage to bring Premier League nights to the Racecourse.
