Wrexham vs Millwall Championship fixture gets a 1 minute kickoff twist for a noble cause that fans of both clubs will respect.
Wrexham’s first February game is just around the corner. The Reds have sealed their January transfer business in more satisfactory than regrettable fashion and now is the time to do the talking on the pitch. Saturday’s opponents are Millwall, who are no less favourites than Wrexham at the Racecourse.
Despite having the home support by their side, Phil Parkinson’s men can’t write off Millwall who are 3 points above than the Reds. A win for Wrexham will bridge the difference perfectly. However, a loss can push the Red Dragons out of the promotion zone and with more work to do to regain a top 6 seat.
Hands down, this Wrexham vs Millwall clash can tilt the Championship table both ways. And the big showdown gets even more special with a 1 minute second-tier twist scheduled for Saturday evening.
Wrexham vs Millwall kickoff time changed for noble cause
In light of the British Heart Foundation’s noble cause, Every Minute Matters, all Championship outfits will respect a 1 minute kickoff time delay. The primary objective of this initiative is to reflect the significance of life-saving CPR for players, football fans and everyday people.

Football unites millions of fans around the world and there is no denying that fact. However, no sport comes above life and as such, every Wrexham fan will respect the reasons behind the 1 minute delay the Reds and Millwall will experience.
Will this narrow change affect the match? Simple answer, No. There will be 90 minutes of action coupled by injury time across both halves as usual. Hence, Wrexham and Millwall will have enough opportunities on their hands to get the better of each other.
Wrexham vs Millwall: Previous results and Current form
The last time Wrexham and Millwall squared off against each other was in the final week of August. Coincidentally, the Reds were heading into the fixture on the back of facing Sheffield Wednesday there as well. The only difference was Wrexham nearly fell prey to a 2-2 Owls turnaround and had sank to 18th in the league table.
Alex Neil’s Lions were going strength to strength on the other hand. Still, Kieffer Moore and Lewis O’Brien delivered the goods to inspire Wrexham to a first Championship win of the season at Millwall’s much feared home, The Den.

Five months later, Millwall are still the same rock-solid side they were in the initial days of the season. Wrexham have gone much better and sharper, though. But that alone won’t suffice for Phil Parkinson’s men given the East Londoners have also only lost a single Championship game in 2026 as them.
That defeat came against table-toppers Coventry City which isn’t a matter of shame for any team in the second division. Rest, Millwall have gathered 4 wins and 2 draws in their past 7 league games. During the FA Cup 3rd round, the Lions were dumped out of the competition by Burnley meaning they have a relatively light February fixture list than Wrexham.
Millwall have crashed out of the Carabao Cup as well. Hence, if there is any tough matchup currently standing in the way for Alex Neil’s promotion chasing men then that is this Wrexham one itself.
Just as Wrexham are dreaming to pip Millwall at fourth place, the Lions will also be aiming to dethrone Ipswich Town and Hull City to go above them. Can Phil Parkinson’s men complete a league double over Millwall on Saturday? Only time will tell.
