Wrexham track 19yo Rangers winger who recently earned 2026 FIFA World Cup call-up

Wrexham are interested in 19-year-old Rangers wonderkid Findlay Curtis after the winger impressed in the Scottish Premiership on a loan spell at Kilmarnock.

The flames of the Spygate verdict have barely left any Championship club untouched, least of all Wrexham. While the Reds are examining whether they are eligible for compensation for the damage caused by Southampton’s unfair advancement to the playoffs, the club is soon expected to turn its full focus to the upcoming transfer window.

On that front, Wrexham’s biggest priority will be adding quality right‑backs to the roster. With loanee Issa Kaboré returning to Manchester City, the Reds are left with limited quality in that department.

One of the biggest factors making a transfer search challenging is finding a talent equally balanced on the attacking and defensive fronts. While Wrexham have time to look for such an ideal target, the club have recently shown interest in an exciting winger.

According to TeamTALK, the player in question is Rangers prodigy, Findlay Curtis. Having thoroughly impressed during his loan spell at Kilmarnock, the versatile winger is on the radar of Championship clubs like Wrexham and Middlesbrough, as well as Italian sides Bologna and Udinese.

Curtis’ 2025/26 displays make him interesting choice for Wrexham

Wrexham’s approach to exciting young talents has been fairly straightforward in recent years. Except for a few sensational prospects like Max Cleworth, the Reds prefer a slower integration for youth stars into the first‑team setup.

However, Findlay Curtis is one talent who could be first‑team ready for any club he joins. The 19‑year‑old illustrated that time and again during his loan spell at Kilmarnock in the Scottish Premiership.

Having joined Kilmarnock in January 2026, Curtis made the most of the opportunity. Despite a modest return of one goal and one assist in nine regular‑season games, he demonstrated his real talent in the relegation group.

While the club’s Premiership status looked dubious for next season, Curtis scored four goals in five games to help Kilmarnock stay up. Thanks to his tremendous performances, Kilmarnock managed four wins in their last four games to secure a safety finish.

While such numbers explain Wrexham’s interest in Curtis, his versatility to play multiple roles is what truly attracts the Reds. Though primarily a left winger, he managed the right flank for much of his Kilmarnock spell and impressed in every game.

In one notable appearance against St. Mirren, Curtis stole the show despite being deployed as a right‑back by Killie boss Neil McCann. The teenager recorded nine shots in an exceptional attacking display and registered an assist in the process.

Wrexham can sign Curtis by Issa Kabore transfer repeat

Given Curtis’ 2025/26 performances and his Scotland call‑up for the 2026 World Cup, it’s certain that Rangers will not let him go easily. Even with Wrexham’s financial firepower to fund an expensive move, the Scottish giants could simply put a “not for sale” tag on their wonderkid.

That possibility becomes even more likely if Curtis delivers impressive performances at the World Cup. If that happens, the Gers will resist any foreign suitors pushing for a permanent move this summer.

However, Wrexham can take a leaf out of the Issa Kaboré loan success to aid their pursuit of Findlay Curtis. While Rangers are unlikely to cash in on the teenager, they could be open to a loan departure if they feel a first‑team jump would be too big a step for him at this stage.

If Wrexham can convince the Scottish club of such an arrangement, they could enjoy Curtis’s services to aid their promotion push. And if the move proves successful, Curtis might help the Reds get a permanent deal done down the line.

Having seen the attacking intent Wrexham enjoyed with Kaboré, Curtis could serve as an attacking replacement for the Manchester City full‑back. While integrating him into the wing‑back role would require additional defensive work, Wrexham may be interested in trying out the exciting talent.
