Wrexham predicted lineup vs Southampton. Phil Parkinson to bring back Kieffer Moore and Nathan Broadhead in the starting lineup.
The 41st Championship matchday is almost over except the most awaited Wrexham vs Southampton clash. Both teams have took off in the Championship during 2026, but the Reds are more inconsistent than Southampton at present.
The Saints are 15 game unbeaten across all competitions and an FA Cup semi-finalist after beating Arsenal 2-1 a few days ago. Wrexham have looked more shaky at the back nowadays, and a defeat tonight could be curtains down for Phil Parkinson’s men in the playoffs race.
Wrexham started their Championship run with a Southampton defeat. Another Saints defeat can potentially end Wrexham’s playoffs run-in. That said, it’s important for boss Phil Parkinson to put the strongest lineup from the start and not go down 1-0 or 2-0 at half-time itself.
Also, the Reds need to search for the early goal. Big changes should be made in the attack for it. On that note, below is the Wrexham predicted lineup vs Southampton that can give the Reds the best chance at grabbing the three points from the Racecourse.
Wrexham predicted lineup vs Southampton
GK: Arthur Okonkwo
Arthur Okonkwo saved a massive point for Wrexham at West Brom with a late save on Josh Maja’s shot. Southampton are a good attacking side, and Okonkwo will need to be on his toes to prevent a Reds defeat tonight.
CB: Callum Doyle
Going behind in the first half often forces Callum Doyle to compromise on his attacking duties. Against Southampton, Doyle must aim to create early openings for Wrexham and break this pattern of chasing Championship games in the second half.

CB: Dom Hyam
Southampton have two tall strikers in their ranks, Ross Stewart and Cyle Larin. Both of them are known to win a lot of aerial duels. Thus, Hyam has to keep both Stewart and Larin in check to boost hopes of recording a clean sheet vs Southampton.
CB: Max Cleworth
Max Cleworth watched on helplessly as Southampton broke through Wrexham’s defence to net a last-minute 2-1 winner in the Championship opener. Better will be expected from Cleworth here against a team searching for a season double over Wrexham.
LWB: George Thomason
Out of all the Wrexham players, George Thomason can be the wildcard against Southampton. Thomason’s biggest strength is crossing into the box. Plus, if he can man mark Saints winger Tom Fellows down the left, it can go a long way towards a Wrexham win.
CM: George Dobson
George Dobson’s positioning in the final third was amazing at West Brom. He can deliver inch-perfect crosses from free kicks too. Let’s see how much Dobson steps up in attack and defence in a crunch league game.

CM: Lewis O’Brien
Zak Vyner is good as a defensive midfielder but he is poor with the ball at his feet. Playing Vyner also prevents Parkinson from starting Nathan Broadhead. This should change tonight, with Lewis O’Brien heading back to central midfield duties.
RWB: Issa Kabore
Issa Kabore vs Leo Scienza battle can decide the outcome of the Wrexham vs Southampton clash. Scienza is the visitors biggest attacking threat and keeping him quiet can hold the keys to a Wrexham home win.
CAM: Nathan Broadhead
Without Nathan Broadhead, Wrexham suffered in the build up play against Sheffield United and West Brom. The 27-year-old Wales international also partners well with Doyle and Thomason on the left wing, which should be enough incentive for Parkinson to bring back Broadhead in the playing eleven.
CAM: Josh Windass
Josh Windass has bagged important goals in the previous two games. He has also netted twice against Southampton in the past, including one for Wrexham. Can Windass make it 3 in 3 for Wrexham and grab a third goal against the Saints? Let’s see.
ST: Kieffer Moore
Kieffer Moore won a penalty on his Wrexham debut against Southampton. Plus, his West Brom cameo was also positive. As for Sam Smith, he has started a lot since March. So, it makes sense to keep him as a super sub option to face tired Southampton legs in the box around the hour mark.
