Surely, Wrexham can’t afford to bottle this opportunity when they go head-to-head against Birmingham City in a few hours. Phil Parkinson’s men need to get the 1-0 down pattern out of the way. Although often it’s Wrexham who start the scoring against Birmingham City in recent years.
The thought of a potential third winless Championship game will be running through Phil Parkinson’s mind. CB: Callum Doyle
Callum Doyle is the first Wrexham defender to panic and make reckless fouls in a counter attack scenario. Birmingham City’s Carlos Vicente will face Doyle on the flank, who scored for the Blues in their previous 2-1 defeat. Hopefully, Doyle does well and keeps Vicente away from cutting inside the box.

CB: Dom Hyam
Birmingham City’s talisman Marvin Ducksch sat out the previous 1-1 Wrexham draw. He has 10 goals to his name and will play, for sure. Dom Hyam needs to avoid letting Ducksch a sniff of Okonkwo’s net, after a terrible performance against Southampton’s Cyle Larin the other day.
CB: Max Cleworth
Phil Parkinson has a dilemma to pick between Max Cleworth and Dan Scarr. The former has been subpar for a couple of weeks, so, Scarr should be given a starting chance. But knowing the importance of this Birmingham City game, Parkinson may play it safe by going to his trusted 23-year-old centre back.
LWB: George Thomason
George Thomason playing at left wing back seems to be set in stone with Liberato Cacace still nowhere close to a return. If Thomason has a great game, Wrexham often end up winning. So, let’s hope the unorthodox fullback sees more of the ball in attacking areas.
CM: Matty James
As said above, Wrexham aren’t in a position to think about managing player workloads for the next games. Today’s away clash can make or break Wrexham’s season. Matty James should start, and most importantly, give an all-round performance as he did at the start of 2026.

RWB: Issa Kabore
Apart from a passing error, Issa Kabore actually did well at Southampton. He delivered a cross which Kieffer Moore almost converted, if not for the crossbar. At Birmingham City, Kabore will be a firm favourite to grab a decisive assist.
CAM: Lewis O’Brien
Lewis O’Brien carries the ball well further into the opposition half. He played a big part in George Dobson’s 2-2 West Brom equaliser and can arrive in a few clinical 1v1 positions at Birmingham City. Lastly, O’Brien needs to be better in the finishing action.
CAM: Josh Windass
Josh Windass’ recent purple patch has helped win 4 points for Wrexham with his 3 goals in the last 3 games. Long may his streak continue. Fancy Josh Windass to score again at St Andrews.
ST: Kieffer Moore
Kieffer Moore admitted he has lacked goals for Wrexham throughout 2026. Very few fans expect him to start two games within a week given his injury history. But going by Moore’s dominating display at Southampton, Parkinson should test him out again and hope Moore scores the goal he has missed all along.
